Google AdWords: Fine-tuning Your Account
With AdWords, constantly refining your campaigns is a
necessity to ensure you are getting the highest ROI
possible. Google will suspend ads with low
clickthrough rates, so you don't waste money. But
there is much more you can do to prevent wasted
funds.
Review your results and make small adjustments to
your spending, your headline, your copy, times/dates
ads are shown and more. For instance, if your
highest converting ad offers a free review of past
returns, perhaps making similar offers for other
services will also pull well. If you get more
clickthroughs during business hours than at night,
refine your settings to exclude nighttime hours.
By paying attention to naturally occurring patterns, you
can easily spot trends that lead to better (or worse)
clickthrough rates, and thus higher conversions.
